From 26 June to 2 July 2023, the Traditional Village Protection Camp took place in Bordány. The camp was attended by 45 participants, including 7 volunteers who helped a lot in the realization of the camp. On the first day of the camp, the children settled into their accommodation. Afterwards they got to know each other, played games and learned about the traditions of Bordany. They made jam from peaches grown in the village, folded and baked scones, felted and made cakes. The Sarmatian Archaeological Park was recently built in the village, where the children learned about archery, the names of ancient spices, what spices are used for and how to use them, thanks to the traditionalists. They also played ancient instruments and danced. On one of the days, the campers also visited the Safari Park in Kiskőrös, where they had a chance to relax a bit. Elephants, giraffes, cows, camels were fed carrots and the campers were entertained by a circus performance. One evening, the campers roasted marshmallows and bacon over a campfire, tasted real Sarmatian tarts and competed in the inevitable numbers war. They met and got to know many traditions and had many new experiences during the 7 days.
